I began stitching custom pet portraits in 2019 after sharing a shirt in which I embroidered kitties on a collar. One of the questions I started getting was, "Can you stitch my pet?" I've been doing it ever since!

I originally founded my business as Brown Paper Stitch, an extension of my long-running blog, Brown Paper Bag. But in drawing and stitching so many pets—and hearing the stories of these wonderful creatures—I've renamed it to Bear&Bean after my cats Sadie (Bear) and Pauline (Bean). They are my mewes (muses).

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember and have had pets all of my life. Bear&Bean represents two of my passions in life rolled into one package, and I'm so grateful for it.
